Located in Whitby Ontario, we have been providing students a wide range of learning opportunities in a caring, secure, intellectual and creative environment since 1994. The structure of our school is built around that of the one-roomed red-bricked school house erected in 1874, preserving the past while moving into the future.
Sinclair has grown! We now number almost 2000 students and boast a teaching staff of over one hundred. We serve a wide diversity of needs including Special Education and French Immersion students. Our commitment is to the future of our students. The school values its multicultural community. We will work closely with the community and with a wide range of resource groups and agencies in Whitby and the Durham Region. Learning and teaching will be explored in recognition of the fact that students have different learning needs. Students will have the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to achieve personal fulfilment and to contribute positively in a global society. To foster the integration of curriculum and the creation of a positive school environment, emphasis will be placed on collaborative planning by teachers. Programs will be designed to promote the ability of students to function effectively in a dynamic society in which accessing, communicating and using information is of primary importance.
